New Trail Cycle Leaders for Evanton Woods
Added on 25 February 2013
the two day course was a great introduction to the process of becoming a capable trail cycle leader, Simon used some great examples to set the scene and challenged us all to think about the management tools we would use to deliver an exciting, challenging but safe time for our riders. A great experience - Many thanks

The weekend of the 22nd saw the first of two Trail Cycle Leader (TCL) courses being run at Evanton Woods. The trainees were youth leaders from Highlife Highland who will use their new found skills to run cycling activities at Evanton this coming summer. The course, which is run by Scottish Cycling, covers aspects of bike maintainance and riding skills through to planning and leadership skills and is seen as essential training for those wishing to lead groups of all ages and abilities off road.
hoping that the map reading and planning was spot on (it was)
The second course will be run in April with the trainees all being from the Evanton community. The trainees will then run or assist in cycling events planned by the education coordinator Simon Harry
