Mink in the woods?
Added on 22 April 2013
we dont think so but with the help of the Scottish Mink Initiative we are going to find out.
.
A mink tunnel has been placed along the rivers edge to see if we can find out if any Mink (or Otters) are using the wood. The floating trap has a clay pad inside which will take an imprint of whatever animal ventures inside. Mink are very inquisitive animals and will investigate any tunnels they come across. We will be checking the raft weekly, taking pictures of any prints then sending them off for identification.
The tunnel does not harm whoever ventures inside, just records their footprints.
